i took all the NPCA events, ran them through my trusty computer, and compiled a cost to run them all....check that.....just to get to all of them! doesn't count what it takes to run our hot rods.
IF you live in Lovington, Illinois, here's the deal:
14 events, mileage to/from them = 8550
fuel cost @ 9mpg = $3206
entry for car/4 crew = $3080
food for 42 days, 4 crew = $5040
incidentals, generator, etc. = $1915
NO hotels for us, we're lucky. Total to run all events = $13,241
Comments?!

I do crunch numbers, every year for the taxes. Last year we spent $6,828 going to 8 races. Granted living in Louisville is more centrally located so there was less mileage but we did have hotel expenses to include. Stayed in some of the nicest hotels I've seen in a LONG time Sometimes you do things you would normally not do just so you can be able to hang with your friends ;D ;D And again this year there are 8 races and 1 out of town show on our schedule plus saving for Bakersfield 2011. Without a sponsor, that is all we can do.

I had planned on doing 8 races this year, work has already scrubbed Indy off my list, and it's 7 days a week at work is making getting out to the car very tough!

Yeah, the overtime money....paying for youngest dauters college, getting money put away for her wedding Sept. 2011, paying for Christmas....funny how that one happens, oh yeah, paying for the stuff I need to do to the altered to be ready for this year!
